We all filter reality in a uniquely different way creating a uniquely different experience. There are a variety of different filters, and different combinations of prioritizing them, which all create a different perception of reality.
Your response-ability is to pay attention to your perception of reality.
In order to do this, you must first slow down your thinking, pay attention to how the thoughts are going through your head.
What are you saying to yourself? Whose voice is it?
What are you picturing? How are these pictures and voices making you feel?
Ask yourself, “Is this how I really want to feel? Is this what I really want?”
What do you want in life? How do you want to feel? What do you see?
What can you picture, imagine, and tell yourself that will propel you forward?
Slow your process of perception down. Observe how you are reacting to reality. If you are reacting in a way that makes life more enjoyable, magnify it, intensify it, feel better and better. If you are reacting in a way that makes you feel “bad”, tune into what you are telling yourself, feel your feelings, and see the pictures that you are forming in your head. Change the pictures, voices, and feelings, play around with it.
